Once again, the mu-liverpool matchup ends in a disappointing defeat for the reds. Liverpool were coming into the game on a high after their 4-0 annihilation of Marseille. Rafa, for only the third time in 3 years, named an unchanged side. The First half started well,both teams struggling to gain the upperhand in midfield with MU having the first period of sustained pressure. But after the 20th minute, it was all Liverpool. The reds stormed forward relentlessly, and two mix-ups between Van Der Sar and his fullbacks would've produced goals, if not for last ditch goaline clearances.
Albeit liverpool having vast amounts of possession, it was MU who scored 5 mins before halftime with their 1st clear chance of the match.
Tevez slotted the ball home after a short corner.Liverpool's marking was virtually non-existant and you could see Carra rolling on the floor when the ball hit the back of the net.?!?
We went into the halftime break a goal down,and you should've seen the look on jons face.

Liverpool again started the second half well, with most of the possession.MU were restricted to the occasional counter-attack. FINALLY. after 60 mins rafa decided to take off kuyt and kewell, the two most hopelessly useless players of the day and sent babel and crouch onto the field. babel injected much needed pace and, crouch, well. he's crouch.

But alas, liverpool weren't to get the break through, partially because MU parked a bus infront of their goal, partially cuz liverpool just couldn't find any creative spark. Torres, usually so lethal, barely managed a shot on target and even gerrard couldn't inspire an anfield comeback.

so,in the end..

Ronaldo's diving practice paid off.

At the end of the day,we missed our chances, they took theirs. And, Mu, deservedly.won.
